1927~2014
Harman Levi Eastman 87, from Springville passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday November 30. Born June 22, 1927 in Provo, to Jack and Vera Mae Eastman. He was the youngest of their 6 children. Harman married Elayne Muhlestein Eastman in August 1951. They were sealed in the Manti temple and enjoyed 60 years of marriage and had a wonderful life together. His wife Elayne preceded him in death, at age 82 three years prier. He missed her dearly. He was the last of his siblings and their spouses to pass.
He was drafted to serve in the army during World War 2 at the age of 17. While serving, he finished his schooling and received his high school diploma.
He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and especially his farming that became his livelihood after his medical retirement from Geneva Steel where he worked for 27 years. He was a foreman and a brick mason while working at Geneva Steel.
He has 5 children. Tye and Kate Eastman, of Moapa, Nv. Pam and Steve Clyde, Suzie and Jeff Atwood, Blake and Denise Eastman, DeAnn and Harry McCoard, all reside in Utah County. He was blessed with 19 grand children and 28 great grand children.
We enjoyed the opportunity of helping take care of Dad during his last few years, which enabled him to stay in his home in Mapleton, which made him happy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday December 6, 2014 at 1:00p.m. at the Mapleton, Utah 22nd ward chapel, 1068 South 1600 West (HWY 89). Viewing will be held Friday, December 5th from 5-7 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary 82 West 400 North Mapleton, Utah or Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
