Jacob Matthew Breiter

May 7, 1999 — January 15, 2017

On Sunday, January 15th, 2017, Jacob Matthew Breiter was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Jacob was born May 7th,1999 in Long Beach, California to Steven and DaraLynn Breiter. He was a great friend, brother, son, grandson, nephew and cousin.
Jacob’s life would seem too short to many, but those whose lives he touched understand that the quality of one’s existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His kind smile, loving hugs, helpful personality, generosity, willingness to work and genuine concern for others brought so much joy to many family members and friends.
Jacob was a Senior at Secta High School in Henderson, Nevada. He was a member of Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program and the Highly Gifted program, and would have graduated this Spring. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Boy Scouts of America.  In the summer of 2015, Jacob participated in a 12-day Expedition at the Philmont Scout Ranch with leaders, other scouts and his father.  In the fall of 2016, Jacob completed the requirements to receive his Eagle Scout Award. His service project, to boost school spirit at his high school, was to complete the chain link fence artwork which surrounds the athletic field. Jacob enjoyed memorizing and playing classical music on the piano. He also loved nature, the outdoors, camping, hiking, the mountains and beaches.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Steven and DaraLynn Breiter of Henderson, Nevada; his older brother Arjay and his three sisters Casiann, Leilani and Nicole; his grandparents Lowell and Greta Breiter, Kay Starkey, and Scott and Kari Wartena; along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23rd, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hobble Creek Stake Center, 495 South Canyon Road, Springville, Utah.  A public viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Mapleton Cemetery located at 620 West Maple Street, Mapleton, Utah.
A Memorial Service will be held in Henderson, Nevada on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lake Mead Stake Center located at 303 Cholla Street, Henderson, Nevada.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the West Valley City Fire Department Stations 71 and 72, (Shift C) and the West Valley City Police Department.
