James A. Hill (Jimmy) 1944-2019, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away from cancer peacefully on August 30, 2019 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Canandaigua, New York on August 17, 1944 to Alton Henry and Irene Ida Ferguson Hill, the third of four children. The family moved to Utah in 1948.
Jimmy attended school in Payson, Provo, and Orem and graduated from Orem High School. He then graduated from UTTI (now UVU) in body and fender. He loved making cars look beautiful. Jimmy liked going camping, and he was a NASCAR fan to the fullest. He worked at Geneva Steel in Orem for 37 years. His greatest joy was his family.
Jimmy is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, High Priest, Eagle Scout, Scout Master, and caring Home Teacher.
He married Judy Stilson on June 12, 1964 in Springville, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, children Chris (Keith) Judd, Santaquin, UT., Mike (Lisa) Hill, Hurricane, UT., Bobbi (David) Roylance, Santaquin, UT., Brian (Cory) Hill, West Valley City, UT., adopted daughter Helana Norton, Phoenix, AZ. 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister Emma Lake, Elsinore, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Springville Kolob LDS Chapel located at 1230 South 500 East in Springville. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South in Springville and at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
