He lived in Mapleton, Utah as a small child surrounded by his extended family and his 5 siblings Bob, Cheryl, Marla, David and LuAnn who adored him. When his family moved to Southern California, he discovered his talents to skateboard, ride his bikes that he fixed up from scratch and eventually was introduced to the sport that would be his passion of surfing. John lived in Southern California for most of his life, enjoying the warm weather, the beach, surfing and sailing. He was living his dream on his sailboat just steps from the beach in the Oceanside Harbor Marina until the time of his death. His love of surfing, lead him to start shaping surfboards, becoming one of the most skilled board shapers in Southern California. His artistic flair combined with his impeccable eyes for detail resulted in his designing and shaping his own line of Tuttle surfboards.
He was a loving father, son and sibling. He had a kind and generous gentle heart.
John is survived by his former wife, Johnna and his four children: Jesse, Jenna, Taylor Ann, Tristan and two granddaughters along with four of his five siblings. He was preceded in death by his Father, Floyd Tuttle, his mother Merilyn Johnson Tuttle and his brother David Johnson Tuttle.
