Tracie Anderson

On Friday, September 25, Karin Tracie Anderson was released from her calling as caregiver to her loved ones and brought home to live in the presence of Jesus Christ. Tracie, as she was known throughout her life, was 58 years old. Her passing was the result of a long-time illness, but was unexpected noneless. She was at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine Texas surrounded by family at the time of her passing.

The daughter of Gale Owen Anderson and Violet Estey Anderson, Tracie was born in Tacoma, Washington, and grew up in Denver, Colorado; Spring, Texas; Fayetteville, Arkansas (where she graduated high school); and Salt Lake City, Utah (where she graduated in Organizational Communications at the University of Utah); she finally settled in Bedford, Texas to be close to her family.

Tracie spend a few years working as a bridal consultant at JCPenney, where she loved helping people. After that, she worked at Allstate, and while there, went back to school and earned her degree as a paralegal specialist. She went to work for the Texas Office of the Attorney General, Child Support Division, where she worked with the family courts to make sure children were fully supported by their parents.

Tracie took her work very seriously, and often worked long hours both at Allstate and at the Attorney General's office; she hated the idea that people in distress might not get the help they needed due to some negligence on her part, so she always went above and beyond to make sure she helped as many people as possible as soon as possible. This included her sister and her mother, both of whom she cared for during the last twenty years.

Tracie loved Jane Austen, musicals, and pop culture. She was active in her church, and throughout the years, she taught toddlers and children, and assisted the leadership of the young women’s and womens organizations. She loved the children, and the children loved her in return.

Sweet little Tracie, I hope you finally know just how much we’ve always loved you, and you were always worth any trouble we put ourselves through in your behalf; we only wish you had let us do more for you. But you’re no longer in pain, nor are you sick and we’re so very grateful that you’re enveloped in peace and resting with your loved ones.

Tracie is survived by her father, Gale Owen, and her brothers Gale (Kathleen), Bret (Rhonda), Eric (Margaret), and Jared (Xiomara), as well as her sisters Wendy (Matt) and Terri. She was preceded in death by her mother Violet and her eldest sister, Rebecca. She is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews and 22 great-nieces and nephews.

Tracie’s graveside service and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery 1997 S 400 E Springville, Utah (close to southeast corner)

Flowers can be sent in the care of Wheeler Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to your local cat rescue/sanctuary or St. Jude’s hospital in Tracie’s name.
