Listen to Obituary

Kaye Johnson Wiley quietly left her earthly home on July 27, 2026, in her home with her family by her side.

Kaye was born on June 4, 1938, in Springville, Utah, the oldest child of Willis K. Johnson and Madge Hales Johnson, having a sister, LaRaye and two brothers, Edward Clark and David Hales born after her.

All of her growing up years were in Springville, going to school from kindergarten to high school, graduating in 1956.

She met and fell in love with Robert Orthello Wiley and was married on August 10, 1956 in Springville. In 1957 they moved to Williamsburg, Virginia while Bob was serving in the army. They met a wonderful family, the Waltrips, who quickly became a second family to them. They had two sons and no daughters, and Mary took Kaye under her wing as their daughter. For two years they were Waltrips adopted family. Their oldest daughter, JoEll was born while they were there.

They came back to Utah and began their life; having 2 more daughters, Margo and Paige and a son, Robert Layne Wiley. They bought a home in Springville and were happy to be loving, working and raising their family.

Kaye loved to play cards, she belonged to many card clubs and continued to play cards with family where she always enjoyed beating everyone she played against. She loved to stitch and made all of her grandchildren embroidered dish towels. She also loved to read and watch old western movies. She was always looking for someone to help whether they be family or strangers.

Through the years she and Bob enjoyed traveling with friends on cruises, flights but their greatest love was to take their truck and camper and travel where ever they wanted; mostly United States, Alaska and Canada. They camped for more than 30 years with their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids at Yuba Reservoir.

Dad passed in 2018 and Mom is now reunited with him. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister, LaRaye, her in-laws, and son-in-law, Evan Crandall. She is survived by their children, JoEll Finch, Margo Whittier (Bret), Paige Dibble (Darin) and Robert Layne Wiley, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, and extended family.

Mom wanted her family to always live clean, honest, and productive lives and to never do anything that would harm or hurt others.

A viewing will be held, Monday, August 3, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah at 11:30 a.m.

Condolences to the family may be expressed on this page.
