Listen to Obituary

Keith Paul Snelson, of Springville, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's dementia.

Keith was born at home in Springville on November 28th, 1934, the day before Thanksgiving to Ralph and Faye Snelson. From the very beginning, family and community were at the heart of Keith's life. With the exception of his military service, Keith remained deeply rooted in his hometown of Springville, (Dink Holler) where he built his life, raised his family, and established his legacy.

After returning from his service in the military, Keith met the love of his life, Celia Rae Engleman. They quickly fell in love, married, and together built the home where they raised their four sons: Scott, Gregory, Brian, and Phillip. All four boys remained close to their parents, building their own families and lives in Springville, where the Snelson family bond grew strong across generations.

Keith and Celia shared a love of adventure and travel. They spent many happy years exploring together, whether it was long road trips across the country in their motorhome, winter getaways in Arizona with beloved friends, or annual trips to Wyoming to attend the Mountain Man Rendezvous, or relaxing summers at their cabin at Scofield West, their favorite home away from home. Everywhere they went, Keith was happiest surrounded by family and friends, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Keith was a man of integrity, known for his strong handshake and even stronger character. He was a hard worker and an entrepreneur at heart. Over the course of 60 years, he successfully owned and operated two thriving businesses, Designs Unlimited and Top-It Pick Up Covers. His dedication and determination not only built successful companies but also provided for his family and served his community.

An avid outdoorsman, Keith found great joy in the mountains and fields. He was President and lifetime member of the Provo Gun Club where he excelled at trap shooting, winning many trophies and awards throughout the years. He especially looked forward to deer hunting season, not only for the hunt itself but also for the time it gave him to gather with family and friends.

Keith also valued fellowship and community. He was a proud lifetime member of the Provo Elks Lodge for 67 years, making him the longest-standing member in the Lodge's history to date.

Keith leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and loyalty. He is survived by his beloved wife Celia, his four sons Scott, Greg, Brian (Lisa), Phillip (Jenny), 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his big brother Ralph (Janet) Snelson, whom he deeply admired. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his twin sisters, who died at birth.

To his family, Keith was more than a husband, father, and grandfather—he was their rock, their mentor, and their example of what it meant to live with honesty, dedication, and love. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his unwavering work ethic, and the way he always kept family at the center of his life.

Though his battle with Alzheimer's was long, Keith's memory will live on in the countless stories, lessons, and traditions he leaves behind.

His life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his legacy will continue through his children, grandchildren, and the many lives he has touched.

The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice (Addison, Ann, and Heather) for the wonderful loving care of Keith.
