LaVerne Kelsey Measom, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28. She was born August 10, 1925 to Elery E and Lila W Kelsey. She married Karl H. Measom on January 10, 1943 and later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 27, 1958. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2012.
LaVerne grew up in Eureka, UT as a child and moved to Spanish Fork where she graduated from high school. That is where she met the love of her life, Karl. They got married when she was still in high school. She sent Karl off to World War II and she went back to graduate from school. She worked at Lemar’s Café in Springville and retired from JCPenney’s in Provo. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church positions and was an ordinance worker in the temple for many years. LaVerne and Karl spent the love of their lives living in Springville, UT. LaVerne was the most loving mother and friend anyone could ask for. Rest in Peace MOM we love you very much.
LaVerne is survived by her 4 children LilaRee Branan, Elk Ridge, UT; Ron (Ann) Springville, UT; Barry (Satsuko) Atoka, TN; Darren (Janet) Spanish Fork, UT and 1 sister DeAnn Moberg; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren, and even 1 great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband Karl, daughter Karlene, grandson Lonnie, granddaughter Jayla Ann and her brother Junior.

Funeral services will be on Friday December 4 th at 11:00, with a viewing for family and friends that will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 at Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South Springville, UT. Burial will be at the Pine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, UT.
