Lillian Momi (Hardy) Nomiyama was born on Kauai, Hawai’i, on April 11, 1949, to Kathleen (Kay) Francis Young Hardy and Barlow Edwin Hardy. She married Melvin Tadashi Nomiyama on July 8, 1978 and together they raised 5 children.
Momi was completely dedicated to her family and devoted all her time and energy into them. She encouraged and supported them in their education and life pursuits. She loved reading the scriptures and taught her children to read from a very young age. Her pursuit of knowledge was fierce and maintained a mindset of life long learning. Her love for her husband, her children, and her grandchildren was evident in all her actions. She loved the outdoors, camping, Autumn, and gardening. She had a warm and loving personality, a generous spirit, and a beautiful smile. She had an unshakable faith that only grew with each passing year and throughout all her hardships she kept a positive attitude.
Momi is survived by her husband, Melvin; her children, Micah, Shiloh, Noelani, Maile, Misae, and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the River Bottoms Chapel (3477 E River Bottom Road, Spanish Fork, Utah). A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mapleton Wheeler Mortuary (82 East 400 North, Mapleton, Utah) and on Friday just prior to the services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A brief graveside service will be held following the services at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
