Linda Lou Hawthorne Dulin, daughter of Pearl Lavina Hawthorne, was born on August 17th, 1948, in Bend, OR. She returned to her eternal home on January 10th, 2026, after a fierce battle with stomach cancer at her home in Springville, UT. Linda married her sweetheart, John W. Dulin Jr., on August 11th, 1979, in Hacienda Heights, CA. Linda, John, and their children Michael, Deanna, Jeffrey, and Johnny were sealed as an eternal family on March 11th, 1982, in the Los Angeles, CA Temple.
Linda was the ideal mother: soft-spoken, gentle, joyful, unconditional, unwavering, and her kindness was oceanic in size. Because Linda was passionate about making memories with her family, she found a way to turn any simple occasion into an unforgettable event. From throwing a KFC-themed birthday party, in which everyone dressed up as Colonel Sanders, to starting the tradition of making candy trains at her annual Christmas party. Creating shared experiences was a favorite past time that earned her the title of the Ultimate Party Hostess. She loved parties and games, loved the ritual of gathering, loved the way joy multiplied when it was shared. In addition to her party-throwing prowess, she held several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She found joy in all her callings; however, she felt most at home serving in the Young Women’s program. Her boundless capacity for empathy and compassion left an impression on the lives of all the young women she served. Linda modeled love as something generous, consistent, and freely given.
Linda is survived by her husband, John W. Dulin Jr., and children: Michael (Julie) Rowland of Chino Hills, CA; John (Jaia) Dulin of Springville, UT; Jeni (Jason) Lavea of Payson, UT; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children; Jeffrey Dean Rowland and Deanna (Ryan) Bair as well as her mother Pearl Lavina Hawthorne and her brother Robert Edward Dunham.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 950 South 1700 East Springville, UT. Prior to the service all are welcome to attend the viewing from 9:30-10:30am.
