Loya "Kay" (Harding) Peterson

Loya Kay Harding Peterson, 84, of Springville, Utah, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020. She was born February 3, 1936 in Payson, Utah. Her parents were Frank Edwin Harding and Carol Olive Greenhalgh. She married Richard Leroy Peterson on April 18, 1957.

Kay was a loving mother of her three children. She attended college at San Bernardino Valley College in California prior to her marriage. She and her family lived in Minnesota, Kentucky, California, and Texas before returning to Utah. In Kentucky she was heavily involved in serving as a band booster for Harrison County High School. She enjoyed golfing, playing board and card games (especially when she was winning), and traveling. She was a beloved grandmother, and great-grandmother. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she served in many capacities.

Kay is survived by her children: Denise (Shaun) McKinnon of Springville, Utah; Brent (Linda) Peterson of South Jordan, Utah, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Peterson, son Dennis Peterson, and brother Richard Frank Harding.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Payson City Cemetery, 400 N. 800 E. in Payson, Utah.
