Lynn Eunice (Jeffers) Bird, 80, passed away on May 8, 2025. She was born on January 29, 1945, in Alhambra, California, to Verne and Frances (Curtis) Jeffers.
Lynn grew up on C Street in the Brookside subdivision of Springville, Utah, where she made many happy memories playing with neighborhood friends. She was part of the first kindergarten class at Brookside Elementary and graduated from Springville High School in 1963.
On April 22, 1966, Lynn married her high school sweetheart, Jack Dean Bird, in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. She faithfully supported Jack throughout his career in the United States Air Force as they raised their six children. Lynn loved being a mother and parented with a blend of loving kindness and the occasional threat of her wooden spoon. The family lived across the United States, including in California, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Idaho, New Mexico, and Utah.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lynn served in many callings, including Primary President and Relief Society President. However, her favorite calling was serving as a Nursery worker, where she found great joy in caring for young children.
Family was Lynn’s greatest joy. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack D. Bird; her children: Troy (Shilene) Bird of McKinney, Texas; John (Holly) Bird of La Luz, New Mexico; Jason (Arlene) Bird of Spanish Fork, Utah; Jeff (Lena) Bird of Payson, Utah; and her daughters Sara Bird and Susan Bird, both of Springville, Utah. She is also survived by her brother, James W. (Gay) Jeffers of Mapleton, Utah; 13 grandchildren—Riley, Sandy, Zac, Gabrielle, Connor, Tyrel, Sebastian, Sammy, Ashley, Jurnie, Josh, Nick, and Kyle—and 11 great-grandchildren.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lawrence Jeffers.
A funeral service for Lynn will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 840 South 400 East, Springville, Utah. A viewing will precede the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Services are under the direction of Wheeler & Sandberg-Olpin Mortuary. wheelermortuary.com
