Margene (Watkins) Cobbley

June 22, 1928 — March 28, 2020

Margene Watkins Cobbley, 91 of Springville, UT passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020. Margene was born June 22, 1928 to Alma LaMar and Lula May Giles Watkins in Heber City, UT. She married Glen E. Cobbley February 6, 1947 and was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple March 3, 1948.
Margene was a fierce matriarch over all she loved. She was a devoted wife and mother, who believed that homemaking was a divine calling, and treated it as such. There was never a question where her priorities lie. She was devoted to those she cared for. Her home was filled with photos, letters from friends, favorite recipes and other mementos.  These were the things that mattered to her. She shared her table, her food, her heart and her wisdom with anyone who needed it.
Margene was a hard worker and taught her children to do likewise. She was as comfortable helping her husband build their first home, to taking care of the home inside and always fixing delicious meals for her family every evening. She was a voracious reader and was well acquainted with the librarians wherever she lived. This undoubtedly enriched her life and the lives of others she befriended over the years.
She loved to visit with others. There was not a clerk in a store or a neighbor in a campground that she was afraid to approach and visit with. She was a treasured member of her community. She taught us the importance of creating memories and bonds that would last for eternity.
She is survived by her children Boyd (Tamra) of Queen Creek, Arizona; David (Laura) of Forest Grove, Oregon; Joseph (Sheila) of Springville, Utah; Mary Ann (Marty) McRae of St Augustine, Florida; 11 grandchildren and their six spouses; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister Rhea Watkins Swain and sister-in-law Lois Cobbley Musick, both of Heber City, UT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Frank and Jack, little sister Fern, and granddaughter Sharon Cobbley.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 with an anticipated memorial when the COVID-19 pandemic no longer prevents large gatherings. Interment Heber City, UT cemetery.
