Marilyn Larsen, our beloved aunt, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Payson, Utah on June 3, 2016 at the age of 82. She was born in the family home on July 29, 1933 in Mapleton, Utah, the youngest of nine children to Wilford Larsen and Margaret Melissa Clyde.
Although Marilyn never married, or had children of her own, there are many people who considered her their “mom” or “grandma”. Marilyn was a very independent and capable woman who was always willing to lend a hand or an ear. She made time for everyone and let you know you were important to her.
She is survived by her sister Dorothy “Dot” Barber of Centerville, Utah with whom she spoke every day, and many “children” and “grandchildren”.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings: Clyde, Howard, Leah and Ned Larsen, Helen Klotz, June Burchard and Verlaine Tanner.
There’s a piece of my heart that was broken today
A hole that can never be filled
The time and the love and the comfort you gave
The numerous lives you have touched
You’ll remain here on earth in our hearts and our minds
While you journey through heaven again.
Farewell
