Max Edward Murray (Ted) 81. Ted passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his friends and family on June 12, 2024.
Ted was born May 5, 1943 to Mina Cristobell Crandall and Max Leonard Murray.
Ted grew up in Springville, Utah. He married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Lynn Chesnut on January 24, 1964 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
They raised their three children, Ryan, Rhett and Chantel in Springville, Utah.
He graduated from Springville High School and always loved being a Red Devil. Ted played football, basketball, and baseball he has always been an incredible athelete. A golfer to the end.
Ted’s love for his family has always been evident through his support in all of their activities, adventures, and interests. He has attended countless games, tournaments and track meets of his grandchildren.
He loved spending time and going on vacations with his family. Two of his favorite places were Disneyland and Yellowstone. His home away from home was with his beloved wife Vicki in Mesquite.
Ted worked for 25 years at Geneva Steel and 23 years for Springville City Parks Department. He especially took pride in mowing the high school baseball and football fields. He loved his Red Devils.
Ted and Vicki are faithful members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a devoted minister (home teacher) and served in the library for the last 15 years.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, his sister Shirley Smith, brother Larry (Nan) Murray, his son Ryan (Julia), daughter-in-law Holly, and daughter Chantel (Ryan) Brinton. Nine Grandchildren: Mitchell (Carrie), Genna (Chris) LaJeunesse, Cooper (Aggie), Ryan, Taylor (Valeria) Mendez, Amanda (Hunter) Tanner, Toronto and Aceton Eschrich, and Cannon Brinton; and three great grandchildren, Lucas and Ruby Murray and Eloise LaJeunesse
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Jerry Smith, his sister Nadine Kimber and his son Rhett Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 1 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 860 East 200 North, Springville, Utah 84673. A viewing will be held on Sunday June 16, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville and at the church from 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville.
