Michael Cyril O’Reilly passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, surrounded by the deep love of his devoted family. As the cherished patriarch of the O’Reilly family, his passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lavern Johnson O’Reilly, and their six children: Kevin, Robin, Sandy, Kelly, Michael, and Casey. His seventh child and fourth son, Roah O’Reilly, preceded him in death. Michael was also preceded in death by his only sister, Maureen O’Reilly Hamilton.
Born in San Francisco on September 13, 1934, Michael was the son of Marjorie Beck and Cyril Jeremiah O’Reilly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, and many others who awaited him in the reunion beyond this life.
Michael lived a life marked by bold drive, unwavering work ethic, and a magnetic personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. An entrepreneur at heart, he proudly owned multiple community-rooted businesses, including a Union 76 gas station, a Firestone tire shop, a neighborhood bicycle store, and a beloved pizza venture co-operated alongside a lifelong friend at Poor Richard’s Pizza.
He was widely known for his gregarious spirit — outgoing, engaging, and gifted with a rare ability to make everyone around him feel valued and important. He never met a stranger, only a friend he had not yet made. His warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others created a legacy of love, laughter, and belonging that will carry forward through generations.
At the time of his passing, Michael’s family had grown to include more than 70 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one a testament to his role as the enduring heart of their expanding family.
Michael was a faithful, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he found purpose, friendship, and deep spiritual assurance. He lived with the comforting knowledge that he would be joyfully reunited with his son Roah, his parents, and all others he loved dearly — forever bound through eternal family.
Though we mourn the loss of his earthly presence, we celebrate the strength of his spirit, the generosity of his heart, and the unshakable conviction he carried that families are everlasting.
The O’Reilly family extends their deepest gratitude for the love, prayers, and condolences shared during this sacred time. Michael’s legacy will continue in every life he touched, in every person he made feel seen, and in every heart lifted through his kindness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 355 East Center Street, Springville, Utah. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
