Michael B. Tronier, age 66, of Springville, Utah, passed away, February 26, 2026. He was known as Mike to family and friends. He was born July 15, 1959, at Wheelus Air Base, Mellaha, Libya to Ronald B. Tronier and Marilyn Hatch Tronier.
Mike’s father was an officer in the Air Force. During Mike’s early years they moved to many different places: Libya, Italy, Oklahoma, Utah, Arizona and North Dakota. Mike continued to have a love for foreign places for the rest of his life.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a mission in Japan where he gained a love of sushi. After his mission he went to BYU and graduated with a master’s degree in international relations. He loved the Provo area so much he never left. Mike worked for a local newspaper in Provo and later as a judicial court clerk for Utah County. He retired in 2023 and moved to Springville.
Mike was known for his love of knowledge, especially in language, geography, astronomy and Greek mythology. He was highly intelligent and knew a little about nearly everything, except sports. In his family, before there was Google, there was Ask Mike. He was loved by everyone who knew him, the first to extend the hand of friendship, and had an amazing sense of humor. He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle. Mike was a storyteller who enchanted his nieces and nephews and taught them the magic our world has to offer.
Mike is survived by his father Ronald Tronier of Aiken, South Carolina; brothers and sisters: Tamralynn (Randy) Clark of Hurst, Texas; Michele (Michael) Wickham of Fountain, Colorado; Teresa Tronier of Aiken, South Carolina; Shawn (Jana) Tronier of Fargo, North Dakota; and Christopher (Patty) Tronier of Aiken, South Carolina, and has many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who miss him dearly.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Marilyn Hatch Tronier.
