She was a one of a kind Mother, who loved unconditionally. Montez was an active member of her LDS faith, serving as a Ward Relief Society President and many other callings, including serving in the Jordan River Temple for seventeen years along with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Wayne Chidester, Springville and children: Kenra Chidester Manila/Springville; Milt (Penney) Chidester, Murreta, CA; Denise (Gary) Frandson, South Jordan; Brett Chidester, Springville; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (all girls). Also survived by siblings: sisters, Grace Blackburn and Myrna Chappell; brothers, Merrill, Ward, Clark and Donald Forsyth. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margo Chidester; grandsons, Kerry Taylor and Chaskin Chidester; and brothers, Brent Morrell and Terry Forsyth.
Viewing will be Thursday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Springville 9th Ward, 950 W. Center Street, Springville, followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
Montez Morrell Chidester, 84, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012. She was born August 24, 1928 in Fremont, Utah to Ruby Brinkerhoff and Milton F. Morrell. She married Wayne Chidester November 18, 1945 (the last 3 days of a 30 day leave from the Navy) in Fremont, Utah. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
