Noel Jon Pabst

Noel Jon Pabst was born December 18th, 1959 to Roland Othell and Meneta Dutson Pabst of Springville. The youngest of five children, Noel enjoyed spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, and participating in football, basketball, baseball, and track & field.

Noel graduated from Springville High School in 1978. After serving his mission in Kyoto, Japan, Noel returned to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University in 1985. He went on to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1995 from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Noel resided and practiced in Portland, OR until returning to Utah in 2011.

Throughout his life, Noel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving within the church was an important part of Noel’s life, whether in the bishopric or as the young men’s president. Another constant in his life was the relationship he maintained with his group of friends from Springville High School. He also kept strong connections with extended family, attending Dutson and Pabst reunions regularly. He enjoyed vacationing in McCall, ID with his high school friends and later with his family. He and his children looked forward to yearly vacations in Cancun, Mexico.

A devoted sports fan, Noel enjoyed attending basketball and baseball games, as well as local track meets. He spent many of his days hiking, watching classic movies, and spending time with his children. His accomplishments as a mountaineer include summiting Mount Shasta, Mount Hood, Mount Whitney, Mount Timpanogos, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens. He had a love for distance running and completed five marathons including Chicago, Newport, Deseret News, and St. George. Noel loved playing golf with his brother, Craig, and attending Jazz games and Hot August Nights with his son, Daniel.

Noel was preceded in death by his parents: Roland and Meneta Pabst. He is survived by his three children: Lauren (Mario) Ayala of Salt Lake City, UT; Jocelyn (Davis) Pabst of Madison, WI; Daniel Pabst of Salt Lake City, UT; his four siblings: Kathie White of Eagle Mountain, UT; Jerrie (Lucia) Pabst of Syracuse, UT; G.L. (Kris) Pabst of Davisburg, MI; Craig (Julie) Pabst of Logan, UT; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
