Rachelle Kaye Tangren Taylor, 46, of Springville, Utah, passed away in her sleep on November 23, 2025.
Rachelle was born on January 31, 1979 in Grass Valley, California to Dannie Marcus Tangren and Kathleen Peggy Wilson. Rachelle’s early childhood was spent in Colefax, California. At the age of 11, her family moved to American Fork, Utah. Growing up, Rachelle took on the role of the 2nd mom at home. She loved taking care of her younger siblings and quickly became the cook and seamstress of the house.
Her family later moved to Springville where Rachelle graduated from Springville High School in 1997. After high school, Rachelle briefly attended Snow College but was too homesick to stay so she moved back to Springville and began working at Springville High School where she became the Attendance Secretary. Rachelle loved working with the students and faculty at Springville High School. She became a friend and confidant to many of the students that passed through those halls during her 27+ years at Springville High.
In early 2003, Rachelle’s pesky office TA insisted on setting Rachelle up with her brother, Carey Taylor. Rachelle and Carey quickly fell in love and were married in the Mount Timpanogas Temple on November 15, 2003.
Rachelle and Carey had three children, Kaydan, Kelton, and Karissa. Rachelle loved her children more than anything. She was so proud of them and during her toughest times, they were her “why”.
Rachelle’s happy place was California. Every summer, Rachelle would pack up the family and head to California to spend time with her grandmother, Norma Wilson. Being at the beach and at the Redwoods recharged her heart and soul.
Rachelle was an incredibly talented cook, seamstress, crafter, and hair stylist. Rachelle loved planning events and cooking for a crowd. She loved snuggling babies and playing with little kids. She loved all things Disney and the color red.
Rachelle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rachelle loved working in the Young Women's organization and attending Girls Camp.
Throughout her adult life, Rachelle suffered from various medical issues but no one would know because she rarely complained. In reality, she was in constant pain as the result of a botched surgery and post-surgery complications, which were coupled with additional afflictions due to side effects from various medications. Yet she put a smile on her face day in and day out, and was one of the first to show up for people in their hour of need.
Rachelle’s sudden passing has left us all with a giant hole in our hearts. While the list of things we will miss about her is extensive, we will really miss her laugh, listening ear, cooking, kindness, jokes, expert braids, advice, support, and hugs.
Rachelle is survived by her husband, Carey and their children Kaydan (21), Kelton (18), and Karissa (15); her favorite person, Grandma Norma, parents Dan and Cathleen, and siblings Robert, David, Sarah, and John (and their spouses and children). As an organ donor, Rachelle was able to bless the lives of more than 12 individuals.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 1460 East 900 South, Springville, Utah. Viewings for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Wheeler & Sundberg Funeral Homes, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah and from 9:30-10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1 before the services at the church. Rachelle will be laid to rest in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
