Robert (Bo) Eugene White, 68, of Mapleton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 30th, 2022. He was born July 13, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri to William Denzil White and Helen Louise Corey. Bo married Jacqueline Kirkman on July 3, 1987, in the Los Angeles, California temple.
At age 14, Bo had a friend that introduced him to the gospel. From Bo’s encounters with the church, this led to him being baptized a member into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After Bo’s baptism, he had many influential friends where they had a common bond in playing various sports. Bo served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rapid City, South Dakota mission which included parts of Canada. He studied at Brigham Young University, but graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills in education. During his career he taught Physical Education, Horticulture, Special Education, and Secondary Math Education for a total of 23 years. Bo was a member of the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. Some favorite callings were ward clerk, high councilor, and bishop (for nine years in two wards). The last three years in Lancaster, Bo and Jackie served as Pathway missionaries where they helped others further their education. He enjoyed serving others whether it was a church assignment, those in the community, or his family. One of his goals was to get his steps in by walking around local stores such as Walmart and conversing with those he came across. If you were ever to see Bo in public he would rarely be seen without his CTR hat to remind all to Choose the Right. Having a strong faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ led him to daily reading of the scriptures and writing in a journal. Bo and Jackie have traveled to 48 continental states (all by car) and Alaska. On these family trips Bo loved driving Jackie around the country to see the sights of our nation. Some favorite spots they’ve visited over the years of their travels were Niagara Falls, Punxsutawney, Wisconsin Dells, Yellowstone, the Badlands, and Mount Rushmore.
Bo is survived by his four children: Jason (Krystal) White of South Jordan, Utah; Jacob (Mareina) White of Powell, Tennessee; Christina White of Lehi, Utah, and Daysee White of Mapleton, Utah, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Pete.
