Listen to Obituary

Sherrie Ann Chamberlain Misel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on January 5, 2026, at her home in Springville, Utah, surrounded by her husband and four daughters.

Sherrie was born on June 5, 1949, in Kanab, Utah, to Wilford Hugh and Ramona Anderson Chamberlain. She grew up in Southern Utah and was deeply proud of her pioneer heritage, which shaped her values of faith, service, and devotion to family and friends.

On August 2, 1969, she married John Phillip Misel, in Cedar City, Utah. In November 1970, their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. They built a life rooted in love, service, and commitment. In 1972, Sherrie and John moved to Richfield, Utah, where they raised their 4 daughters and lived for many years before relocating to Springville in 2018. Sherrie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She faithfully served in many stake and ward callings over the years. Sherrie also enjoyed serving in the Manti Temple for over 10 years.

Sherrie loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors, gardening, reading, looking at cookbooks, rock collecting, crocheting, puzzles, chocolate, collecting old coins, looking at magazines, watching football, and taking care of her “grand-dogs” -- always with a diet coke nearby. She had so much love to give. Sherrie found great joy in caring for others— Her home and heart were always open, and she was happiest when she was serving those around her. She loved her family fiercely and wanted nothing but the very best for them. Every child and grandchild knew, without question, that they were her favorite.

Sherrie’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sherrie is survived by her husband, John, and daughters, Necia Albrecht, Elk Ridge, Utah; JoyLynn Misel, Springville; Cindy Davis (Alan), Santaquin, and Julie Graves (Bryan), Springville; brother, Brent (Kathy) Chamberlain. She adored and is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Hayden (Aspen) Albrecht, Jaxon (Brynne) Albrecht, Addison Albrecht, Easton Albrecht, Kallie Graves, Zackary (Taylor) Graves, Brock Graves, Aleck Graves, Katelyn Davis, and Liam Davis. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Hugh and Ramona Chamberlain, siblings, Yvonne, Fae Donna, Lucille, John David, and granddaughter, Ella Kay Davis.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel, located at 495 South Canyon Road, Springville, Utah. There will be a visitation before the service from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Following the service, Sherrie will be laid to rest at the Orem City Cemetery.
