Sherry Prior Warner Mecham died April 2, 2026. She was born Dec. 4, 1949, in Salt Lake City to Gene Lewis & Melva Naylor Prior. She grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah, attended schools there and graduated from Spanish Fork High School with high honors in 1968.
She married Paul David Warner on May 26, 1971, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with four children: Kristie, Jenny, David Paul and Lori. In 1985, Sherry & Paul were in a car accident. Paul was killed. Sherry married Alan W. Mecham in 1992, in Provo, Utah.
After high school, Sherry graduated in 1973 from the University of Utah, with her bachelor’s degree in medical technology. She worked full-time in the blood bank & chemistry departments at Cottonwood & Logan hospitals. In 1981, Sherry graduated from BYU with her master’s degree in counseling & guidance. She worked as a school counselor for 25 years in Alpine & Nebo school districts.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints & served in many callings. She loved the Savior & knew it was prayer that sustained her during the many trials she went through.
Sherry was an avid reader, a seamstress, played piano, & enjoyed music all her life. Sherry loved to travel. Her favorite place was Lake Powell & she enjoyed boating, skiing, & fishing.
She is survived by husband Alan, & children Jenny (Jeff) Johnson, Paul (Dre) Warner, Lori (Mike) Funk, Kirk Mecham, & Kalli (Kent) Bowers, brothers Jeff (Michelle) Prior, Doug (Melody) Prior, brother-in-law Ray (Ann) Mecham, 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with another one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, daughter Kristin Warner Damon, her parents, in-laws Jarvis & Fernetta Warner, in-laws Wendell & Ardath Mecham.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Wheeler & Sundberg Funeral Homes, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah 84663. Following the visitation, a graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.
