Teri Windley Averett, of Springville, UT, passed away September 10, 2020. She was born May 7, 1954, to Charles Jack Windley and Carol Ann Sumsion. She married Jerry Averett, the love of her life, July 14, 1972. They were sealed in the Provo Temple July 20, 1973.
Teri was brave, fun-loving, and fiercely loyal. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 5, and saw many medical advances in the treatment of her disease throughout her life. She beat the odds by living to see the age of 66, 48 years of marriage, and children and grandchildren born and raised. She loved to travel, sew, camp, and her family was her everything. She worked for Nebo School District as a lunch lady for many years, and then at the BYU post office from which she retired. She fought courageously through 4+ years of dialysis and passed away September 10, 2020. She was one tough broad!
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her son Lyn (Kristen), her daughter Ayn, and grandchildren: Ty (Samantha), Ethan (Alena), Ayndria, Jonathan, and Spencer Averett. She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents. She will be greatly missed by family, and all who knew her.
The graveside service for immediate family will be at the Springville Cemetery and will be broadcast Friday, September 18, 2020, at 11am via zoom at the following link:
