Toni Lee Miguel Ely of Mapleton, Utah, passed away on April 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to her a reflection of the life she lived every day.
Toni was, in every sense, one of the most caring and giving women to walk this world. To know her was to feel wrapped in love, understood without needing words, and completely at home. Many would say she was a true angel—not just in spirit, but in the way she lived: soft, selfless, and full of grace.
She dedicated many years to her work at Young Kester Black and Jube, where she was the steady presence who held everything together. If you called, you knew it would be Toni on the other end warm, capable, and always taking care of things.
Toni always found joy in life’s simple moments. Springville Days carnival rides, time with the “Gals of ’66” from Springville High and gathering everyone around her unforgettable Thanksgiving table. Summers were filled with swim days, backyard wiffle ball, and her unforgettable Bloody Marys that turned into lasting memories. She also cherished time at Lake Okoboji, where life felt easy, fun came freely, and sunsets closed the day just right. She carried a quiet kind of magic and she loved the sunshine “You Are My Sunshine” was something she carried with her and she seemed to bring that same warmth and light wherever she went. Always keeping a sense of wonder, it is believed she had a direct line to Santa, and she never once denied it.
Toni had a lightness about her, a gentle presence that put people at ease. More than anything, she made people feel like they belonged. Titles never quite fit because to so many, she wasn’t just a friend, an aunt or grandmother… she everyone’s best friend, Mom or Grandma.
Her absence leaves an ache, but her love will continue to live on in every life she touched. Her home, her presence, and her table were always open.
She is survived by her husband, Blair Ely. Their 57-year marriage, beginning in November of 1968, reflected Toni’s deep commitment to family and her enduring strength in love.
She leaves behind her sons, Justin Ely (Sybrina) and Zac Ely, and a loyal dog George, who will remain on earth, faithfully watching over Zac and Blair. Toni’s boys were her whole heart, and her love for them was steady, unconditional, and woven into everything she gave.
Her grandchildren were the center of her world. Vivian Vigil (Eli) and Nic Ely were endlessly loved and celebrated by her. She could be found in the stands at countless baseball games, watching rodeos with pride, or simply sitting close, soaking in time with them. She didn’t just love her grandchildren she delighted in them.
Toni is also survived by her sister, Donna Beardall (Kelly), a relationship that was deeply special to her. Together, known simply as “the grandmas,” sharing get togethers and planning everything around family. A bond that only sisters can hold. Kelly was someone Toni could always count on never hesitating to lend a hand or run an errand, always showing up with quiet generosity.
She is also lovingly remembered by her cherished nieces and nephews: Brandon Hanks (Brandi), Sammy Giles, and Kasie Lee Giles, who held a uniquely close place in Toni’s heart, like a daughter of her own. Her great nieces and nephews; Kole, Izzie, and LucyLee, along with Mike, Sky, Nyle, Naavah, Hayzel, and Hexton were embraced by Toni as her own grandchildren. She showed up for them all with pride and enthusiasm, attending 4-H events, softball games, recitals, and cheer performances. Supporting each of their interests with genuine joy and unwavering love.
She is reunited with her parents, Vivian and Wave Miguel, her sister, Tammy Giles, and her beloved dog Lucy Mae, who no doubt greeted her with the same loyalty and love she gave so freely.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, Utah, on May 8th at 3:00 PM. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of life at Toni’s residence, 650 East 1200 North, beginning at 5:00 PM.
