Verlene Buchanan Haws

Verlene Buchanan Haws died on June 16, 2007 in Logan, Utah. She was born June 12, 1920 in Venice, Utah, third child of Boyd Buchanan and Catherine Boyer Buchanan. On July 6, 1945, she married Melburn Ward Haws of Mesa, Arizona. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Nampa, Idaho; Davis, California; and American Fork and Orem, Utah.



They were the parents of four children: Steven Haws of Providence, Utah; Patrician Haws Perry of Draper, Utah; Charles Haws of Sacramento, California; and Robert Haws of Marshfield, Wisconsin. They also leave 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Verlene also leave one surviving brother, Lovell Buchanan of Woodland, California and one surviving sister, Betty Joe Buchanan Parker of Lehi, Utah.



For about 30 years from 1966, Verlene was a capable and effective secretary and administrative assistant at University of California, Davis, California, Brigham Young University and the LDS Missionary Training Center, Provo, Utah. In her work and private life, Verlene touched many lives and was widely loved.



Viewing and services will take place at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah (801) 489-6021 on Thursday, June 21, 2007. Viewing at 2:00 p.m. and services at 3:00 p.m.
