Violet Louise Anderson

Violet Louise Estey Anderson, born April 19, 1938, the heart and hearth of her family, departed this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday evening, September 20, 2026. Violet was 88 years old, and she passed as the result of natural causes. She was at home with her family in Bedford, Texas at the time of her departure.

The daughter of Annabel Larrabee Estey and George Henry Estey, Violet, was born and raised in Salt Lake City. She met and married Gale Owen Anderson in 1955. Gale and Violet moved many times with their ever-growing family in Salt Lake, Provo, and Price, Utah. They also spent years living in Anaheim, California; Tacoma, Washington; Denver, Colorado; Spring, Texas; and Fayetteville, Arkansas before finally setting in Bedford, Texas.

While keeping her family’s home and raising 8 children, Violet also found the time and the drive to go to nursing school and become an RN. This same desire to help and heal led Violet to keep her door and her home open to those in trouble or in need when she could. To know Violet was to know a welcoming heart and a helpful hand.

Violet loved tending to a variety of plants, and she passed her green thumb on to several of her progeny. She also adored cats, especially the Siamese breed, and it was rare that you could not find one cuddling with her.

Violet is survived by her husband Gale Owen, and her children Gale (Kathy), Bret (Rhonda), Eric (Margaret), Wendy (Matt), Tracie, Jared (Xiomara) and Terri. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest daughter, Rebecca Anderson Hull; and also, by her siblings Naomi Pearl Hebbert, David Earl Estey and Wayne Leland Estey. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Thank you, my sweet little Mother, for staying with us for so long and for shouldering the burdens of an ailing body. Rest now and know that we will miss your kind eyes and warm smile. We know how much you’ve missed Naomi and Rebecca, and we rejoice for you at your reunion with the family that has gone before, even as we mourn for ourselves.

The Viewing for Violet is at Wheeler Mortuary on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 6–8 p.m. Wheeler Mortuary 211 E. 200 S. Springville, Utah, 84663

There are no formal funeral services, and her graveside service and burial are at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery 1997 S. 400 E. Springville, Utah, 84663 (close to southeast corner)

Flowers can be sent in the care of Wheeler Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to your local cat rescue/sanctuary in Violet's name.
