Weston James Thompson, beloved father, son, brother, brother-in-law, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, age 38, of Herriman, Utah, passed away on July 12th, 2025.
Born on March 30, 1987, in Payson, Utah, Weston is the son of Michael Earl and Christine Richardson Thompson. He grew up in Mapleton, graduated from Springville High School, and attended Utah Valley University.
Weston owned Nikson Home Automation and also worked at VASA in Herriman. Friends and coworkers remember his steady work ethic and his gift for connecting with people, whether at home, on the field, or in the outdoors.
Above all, Weston loved his family. He is survived by his son, Nikson West Thompson; his parents, Michael Earl and Christine Richardson Thompson; his brothers, Colby M. Thompson (Whitney Hill) of Mapleton and Garrett B. Thompson (Whitney Carson) of Provo; and his grandmother, Verla Richardson (Stu Jolley) of Elk Ridge, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Cyril and Doris Thompson, Lynn B. Richardson, and his uncle Mark Richardson.
Weston lived life fully. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, soccer, softball, golf, woodworking, welding, baseball, longboarding and spending time with friends and family. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a two-year mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where his kindness and testimony touched many lives.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 25th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mapleton Utah Stake Center, 970 North 400 East, Mapleton, Utah. A second viewing will take place on Saturday, July 26th, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the same location, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Weston will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah. The service will be livestreamed; a link will be provided by Wheeler Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to a fund that will be gifted to his son, Nikson - Venmo @ChrisThompsonRN.
Weston's huge smile, great hugs, vibrant energy, laughter, and loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. It is impossible to count the lives Weston touched and supported, no matter their situation. His legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on through those who knew him.
