Listen to Obituary

William Douglas Livingston, lovingly known as Bill, passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his happy and devoted family. He was 80 years old.

Bill was born on July 22, 1945, in Provo, Utah, and grew up with a strong work ethic, a sharp sense of humor, and a love for family that would define his life.

A proud graduate of Springville High School’s Class of 1964—a loyal Red Devil—Bill went on to attend Utah State University and serve honorably in the Air Force National Guard. His career took him to Geneva Steel, and then to USX in Indiana, before returning home to Utah. Later in life, he worked in hospitality at Utah Valley Hospital, where his kindness, laughter, and genuine care made an impression on patients and staff alike.

In 1966, Bill married his sweetheart Linda Paxton, and in 1977, they were sealed together in the Provo Utah Temple. Together, they raised four children who were the pride of his life: Jami Ann Welch (Nate), Lisa Raquel Jones (Courtney), Gordon William Livingston (Amber), and Ryan Ellsworth Livingston (Andrea) and his 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Bill was the kind of dad who showed up: he camped with his kids, played ball in the yard, and never missed a chance to attend their events. He was happiest when working with his hands, especially if it meant helping someone else.

Those who knew Bill knew a man who loved to laugh, loved to serve, and loved his wife and family. If you needed help, he’d show up with tools in one hand and a joke in the other. He was the type of man who’d give you the shirt off his back.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Linda, his four children, and his siblings: Allan Livingston (Debbie), Stephen Livingston (Jan), Camille Whitehead (Robert), and Robert Livingston (Gloria) and LaNeal Livingston. He is reunited in peace with his brother Kay Livingston, his beloved parents, Gordon and Eulilia Livingston, his in-laws, Ella and Erwin Sheffield, and his nieces and nephews, Kaylene, Wendy, Scott, and Julie Whitehead, Spencer, Mason, and Katie Livingston.
