Aaron Scott Boone

Our son, brother, dad and friend, Aaron Scott Boone (45) of Mapleton, Utah passed away on Wednesday, April 7th after suffering a pulmonary embolism. He was born December 15th, 1975 in San Leandro, CA to W. Robert (Bob) & Stephanie (Stevie) P. Boone their 2nd child and only son.

Aaron grew up in Pleasanton, California and graduated from Amador High School in 1994 and also attended Utah Valley University. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America and was most proud to receive an American flag from the President of the United States as part of that recognition.

Aaron was a lifelong member and missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He enjoyed various callings to teach about the Savior, including the youth in Seminary. He loved doing temple work for his ancestors and was a faithful home teacher.  He was thrilled (especially keeping his beard and long hair) to be an extra in the New Testament Bible videos for the Church until his career as an actor was cut short when a donkey stepped on his foot.

He had various jobs most notably as manager for several years at Big Daddy’s CD Exchange in Provo.  He surprised many by his knowledge of music especially Jazz, Blues and Soul.  He was also a delivery truck driver and salesman for Traco Packaging and Alsco Uniforms.  The “Bearded Gnome” was his own lawn care and landscaping business.

He had a passion for San Francisco Giants baseball.  One of his fondest memories was being picked up at school by his Dad in his Highway Patrol car and later that day they attended a game in Candlestick Park.  He was especially happy those years the Giants won the World Series.

World wrestling (WWE) was another passion (or guilty pleasure). He collected several action figures hoping to profit from them in the future.

Above all, Aaron loved nothing more than his daughter Grace, born in 2007.  She was the light of his life and they enjoyed spending time together especially watching movies.  Most recently Aaron and Grace were organizing a bicycle club in the neighborhood called the Green Goblins.

We will all miss his humor, wit, hilarious stories and friendship.  Aaron is survived by his daughter, Grace Mae Boone, his mother, and three sisters: Dottie Jones (Mike), Alyssa Salazar (Jimmy), and Rachel Boone as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father just last July. Father and son are now together again.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17th at 12 noon in the church located at 475 N 1600 W, Mapleton.  A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at Wheeler Mortuary 211 E 200 S in Springville and on Saturday morning prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30am at the church.
