Anthony Keith McGee (65) of Springville Utah, passed away Friday April 23rd, 2021 due to life-long illnesses. He was born November 26, 1955 in Erwin, Harnett, North Carolina to Joseph Marvin McGee and Eula Edna Parrish. His only marriage was to Lizbeth Susan Johnson in 1978, they later divorced in 2009.

Keith came from a childhood where the family farmed tobacco. He was driving a tractor at age seven. This was a family affair. He was brought up in the Primitive Baptist Church but later converted to the LDS church as he became an adult. He loved the scriptures and studied often.

Keith had many interests and put his whole heart into each one. Among many things, he studied astronomy and built a telescope which measured 8 feet by 12 inches. He shared this passion with family and friends and would often take it up to the top of the mountains away from city lights and teach anyone who came about the stars and galaxies. He was very knowledgeable about this and so many other things, he retained anything he learned and was a brilliant man. He absolutely loved fishing, especially at Utah Lake and Deer Creek Reservoir. He found peace and pleasure in camping and going on family trips. He loved sharing his southern states food heritage with the family in Utah.

He found joy in serving in the American Legion local chapter with local wartime veterans. During his years in the Military, he found his love of languages, and he became a Russian translator which allowed him to travel the world. He served 8 years in the Provo Police Department as a police officer. He spent some years at Dugway Proving Grounds. He then went to work as quality control for NuSkin. His last job was with Weider Nutrition. He was always so proud that he had the opportunity to shake hands with and meet Arnold Schwarzenegger during that time.

Keith was a father to three children and eight grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a high priest and worked in the temple often, he enjoyed doing work for his ancestors.

Keith is survived by his sister, Brenda Gayle Agnor of Erwin North Carolina. His three children; Kyla Ferguson of Orem, Utah; Alana Atwood of Springville, Utah and Joseph Marvin McGee (Brianna) of Okinawa, Japan. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and many loved ones here in Utah and in North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters Shelby Jean (Wayne) and Charlotte Ann (Elmer) and two brothers Kenneth Wayne (Katheryn) and Richard Kent.
