Edward Taylor Cozzens, 76, of Springville, Utah, passed away on September 29, 2022, at his home in Springville, after a 2-year battle with cancer.   He was born on December 25, 1945, to Myron Edward and Ariel June Taylor Cozzens, in Pasadena, California.  He spent most of his youth in southern California.

When he was 17, he moved to Byron, Wyoming where he finished high school, graduating in 1965.  It was there that he met Beverly Kay Jones.  He was drafted into the United States Army in January of 1966.   Ed and Beverly were married on July 3, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They were later sealed in the Swiss LDS Temple.   During the rest of his time in the service, he and Bev lived in Germany and there developed a lifelong love of traveling.

After the military, they moved to Utah Valley so Ed could attend BYU.  He earned an Associate Degree in Business.  He worked for several years as a mechanic.  He worked for 25 years and retired from the Salt Lake County Health Department.

Ed enjoyed all things mechanical, which sparked an interest in motorcycling.  He started riding dirt bikes, then moved up to street bikes and then touring bikes.  Ed and Bev started riding together when he was in college.  As they had children, they were included.  Eventually, Bev got a motorcycle with a side car so there were enough seats for the 3 boys.  As a family they traveled by motorcycle thru most of the western United States and Canada, visiting many National Parks, friends, and family along the way.  As the boys got older, Ed and Bev joined the Gold Wing Motorcycling Association and then The Temple Riders Association.  They enjoyed many wonderful trips visiting different LDS Temples across the US and Canada with some amazing people.  Lifelong friendships were developed and enjoyed.  After retirement, they still rode with the TRA, but took many trips with another couple or enjoyed taking off on their own.  Over the years they rode thousands of miles in all 50 states and 6 Canadian Provinces.

Ed was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served in many positions including:  home teacher, scout master, Sunday School Teacher, Bishopric Counselor and High Council member of student wards at UVU.

Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years: Beverly.  Three sons: Taylor (Karen), Phillip (Lacey), and Jeff. 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  His siblings: Myra (Earl) Close of Salt Lake City, and Philip (Elvira) Cozzens of Las Vegas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:00 am in the Stake Center at 400 East 400 North, Springville.  A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, October 4, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville and on Wednesday just prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the chapel.  Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with military rites.
