Fern (Crowther) Van Sickle

We would like to celebrate the beautiful life of Fern Crowther Van Sickle which started on July 12, 1928.  Fern ended her journey on earth on May 2, 2022, to return to her heavenly Father and was preceded in death by her husband, Don Van Sickle on August 18, 2006.  They were married on November 16, 1947, in Sanford, Colorado, and later sealed on November 21, 1950, in Mesa Arizona Temple.  They were blessed with four Children Sharon (Monty) Foster of Springville, UT, Leon (Mary Lynn) Van Sickle of Mapleton UT, Donna (Keith) Sorensen of St. George, UT, and Brent (Kelly) Van Sickle of Springville, UT. Fern was proud of her many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.

Fern was blessed with many talents. She was an attentive mother, she loved to feed her family and extended family wonderful meals and everyone loved her rolls. Our mother was gifted to work hard and never quit what she started. She especially enjoyed being a realtor and she found pleasure in helping people find the right home. She acquired many friends through her job.  Later in life Fern and Don enjoyed many trips with family and friends to Hawaii. One of the things she especially loved was gardening and her flowers.  She had a way of keeping her family busy, keeping up her yard and garden.

Fern was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She served many callings: long-term primary President and many relief society callings.

We will especially miss the gift she had of being a great listener to her family and friends and, her ongoing encouragement.  She will be missed dearly.

The funeral service will be held Sat. May 7, 2022, at 11:00 am in Springville at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 E 200 S. in Springville.  Private viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 9:45 am for the family. Those desiring to offer condolence may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  Those who would love to pay their last respects are cordially invited to Fern’s memorial service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
