Jack Leroy Johnson of Springville Utah passed away November 13, 2021 of natural causes. He will be remembered for his love of music, his ability to make friends and attention to detail. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was born June 26, 1925 to Albert and Valydia Webb Johnson of Sandy Utah. He met the love of his life, Betty Ann Furse and they were married on May 1, 1946.
He was conscripted into the United States Navy when He turned 18 and left high school to serve his country. He served in the Aleutian and Kodiak Islands in Alaska.
He spent his career repairing typewriters, calculators, adding machines and electric razors. He was known throughout the state of Utah as one of the best and most knowledgeable repairmen in the business. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others and taught in Richfield Utah's Trade Tech for short time.
Jack spent many years as a member of SPEBSQSA a barbershop choir. He also performed with a Barbershop Quartet for the majority of his adult life. He enjoyed creating model airplanes and trucks from soda and beer cans. He loved watching western movies and TV through his entire life. He and his wife enjoyed spending the winter in Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann, his son Keith Lamar Johnson, his parents, Albert and Valydia Johnson, and two sisters. He is survived by five children Danny Johnson, Sherry Taylor, Larry Johnson, Boyd Johnson and Julie Kovatch; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses at the care center and the hospice nurses for their gentle, loving care. Thanks to Mike Johnson and his wife who have been wonderful neighbors and friends.
There will be a graveside service at the Bluffdale City Cemetery, 14229 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, UT, on Friday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m.
