Jason Douglas Moore was born on October 13, 1972 in Provo, Utah. He graduated from this life on February 13, 2020 in Orem, Utah, from end-stage melanoma, at the age of 47.
Jason was a happy, active, curious, intelligent child. He moved with his family multiple times, living in Provo, Ft. Lee, VA, Bradley Beach, NJ, Eatontown, NJ, Pomona, CA, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Alta Loma, CA, where he graduated from high school. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pusan, Korea. He married Rebecca Fielding in 1995, and they had six children together. He graduated from Brigham Young University and worked for Ford as a mechanical engineer in Ohio for several years, then got his MBA from the University of Utah. He worked at several jobs after that but his most rewarding was owning and running Vanguard Neurofeedback and seeing lives change because of that technology.
Jason made some serious mistakes and was divorced and went to prison in 2013. He worked hard to change himself over years, utilizing many programs available, and was released 6 years later. 5 months after being released he was diagnosed with cancer, and was able to spend time with many family members for the next 10 weeks until his death.
Jason was blessed through his life with an insatiable curiosity and desire to learn, grow and figure out the world. This drove his educational pursuits, his different career paths and ultimately his desire to understand himself with a drive to overcome his greatest personal challenges. He has communicated to his family that he accepts responsibility for and acknowledges the pain he caused those that loved him the most, and with tears expressed his sincere regret and sorrow for the mistakes he made. He stated that he feels at peace with God.
Jason is survived by his parents, M. Douglas Moore and Judith S. Moore; his siblings Tonya Adams, Tina Ingles, Thomas Moore, Monica Strang, and Shane Moore; and his children Mary, Jason, Caleb, Sarah, Joshua and Eden.
