September 6, 1970 - December 17, 2020

Scott Jones, 50, of Springville, Utah, passed away early Thursday morning December 17, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born September 6, 1970 in Ogden, Utah. Scott grew up in Utah Valley and graduated from Mountain View High school in 1988. Shortly after graduating, he met and married the love of his life, Britt Deegan, on October 25, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 1997, they moved to Arlington, Texas, where he attended aircraft maintenance school, specializing in airframe and powerplant mechanics and graduated in 2000. After returning to Utah, he then attended flight school in Provo, Utah.

After flight school, instead of pursuing a career with aircrafts, Scott began working for Curecrete Chemical Company as the Production Manager and was a crucial part of the company. He worked there for over 20 years and enjoyed the many friendships and time spent with co-workers. He cared deeply about the company and was instrumental in the company’s continued success.

Scott was a very devoted husband and father. Together, Scott and Britt raised three amazing sons: Casey, Rylin, and Keyan. He was so proud of his sons and all of their successes and always supported their various interests and activities. His sons were the light of his life.

He helped build their log home up Hobble Creek Canyon, where the family currently lives, and enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery and wildlife. Scott loved the outdoors and had many adventures in the mountains. He loved spending time with his family and friends camping, fishing, hunting and going on family trips, especially anywhere with a sandy beach.

Scott is survived by: his father Jerald W. Jones and step-mother, Calleen Jones; loving wife Britt (Deegan) Jones; and their three sons Casey Scott, 18, Rylin Nicholas, 16, and Keyan River, 13; sisters Ashley Hill, Lynnley (Steve) Robertson, Jennifer Hansen; step-siblings Brak (Denise) Carman, Wyatt (Amber) Carman, Nicole (James) Reichman, Camy (Jim) Little, Sterling (Bailee) Carman; his In-laws, Marlene (Barry) Evans, Sister-in-law Lisa (Benton) Larsen, Brother-in-law Luke (Brittany) Deegan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Karen Pond Jones, who always lovingly called him “Scotty.”

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah at 2:00 p.m. The service will also be held virtually for those that would like to attend.
