Kent S. Wright, of Springville, UT passed away at the age of 77 on Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born on January 8, 1946 in Heber City, UT to Pharis Wright and Zola Scott Wright. He married Peggy Kapp on October 17, 1980 and was later sealed in the LDS Temple.

Kent served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a professor at UVU for 20+ years teaching professional truck driving and then went on to become a Logistics Manager for the Utah Fire Academy. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time on the Provo river and also Fish Lake. He loved painting and drawing, his specialty was watercolors and pencil sketches. Riding his motorcycle was another thing that he thoroughly enjoyed, any spare time he had he would fix it up or take it out for a ride. On the weekends he would teach skiing at the Sundance Resort. During the summers he would pack up their 5th wheel trailer and travel up to the Oregon Coast in search of beautiful scenery that he loved to photograph and of course, catching crabs was always first on the list.

Kent is survived by his 6 children: Wendy (Jeff) Perkins, Angela (Brad) Park, Rick (Ronnie) Wright, Nathan Wright, Casey Wright, and Libby Preston; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and younger brother Arch.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South, Springville, UT. A viewing for friends and family will be held the same day from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion.
