Marie (Anderson) Talbot

On Monday, November 18, 2019, Anna Marie Anderson Talbot, surrounded by her loved ones, peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father and her loving husband.  She had recently turned 79.

Marie was born on September 19, 1940 in Cedar City, Utah.  She was the fifth of ten children born to Roland and Ellen Anderson.  Marie graduated from Cedar High School, attended College of Southern Utah and Utah State University, and then served a mission to England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Shortly after returning home from England, Marie met Dick Talbot.  Eighty-one days later, they were sealed in the St. George Temple on July 19, 1963.  They served six missions together for the Church of Jesus Christ.  Together Dick and Marie had five children, 29 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren with more on the way.  They had been married for 44 years when he passed away on February 24, 2008.

Marie had a talent for making the people around her feel loved and important.  No one walked into her day without receiving a hug.  She was well known by her family, friends, and neighbors as someone who always had the time to talk, with sincere love and interest, about what was going on in their lives.  Service and taking care of others was an important part of everyday life for Marie.  Along with loving her family, she ministered to ward members and spent many hours volunteering at Brookside Elementary School.  She also continued her church service by serving in many ward callings, as a service missionary, and as a worker at both the Provo Temple and the Provo City Center Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Talbot; father, Roland Anderson; mother, Ellen Anderson; brothers, John and Boyd Anderson; sister, Patsy Anderson; two grandsons and one great-grandson.  She is survived by her children LeAnn (Ron) Andrews of Spanish Fork, Utah; J. D. (Stacy) Talbot of Spanish Fork, Utah; Layne (Rosella) Talbot of Mount Pleasant, Utah; LynNae (Martin) Peña of Enoch, Utah; and Stanley (Presha) Talbot of Springville, Utah.  She is also survived by five brothers and one sister: David (Mary) Anderson of Bunkerville, Nevada; Kent (JaNeene) Anderson of Bunkerville, Nevada; Keith (Emily) Anderson of St. George, Utah; Lona (Lynn) Mitchell of Enterprise, Utah; Roland (Deanna) Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Steve (Sally) Anderson of Yuma, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019  at 10 a.m. at the church at 840 South 400 East in Springville, Utah.  Viewings will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 at the Wheeler Mortuary at 211 East 200 South in Springville and Saturday morning at the church from 8:30 to 9:30 prior to the services.  Marie will be laid to rest next to her sweetheart in the Sutherland, Utah cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
