Matthew Carl Erickson

Matthew Carl Erickson, 51, of Springville, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021. He was born August 4, 1969, in Provo, Utah to Ronald Erickson and Mary Chambers. So after a long engagement and being together for 12 years, he married Jamie Lyn Bouck Erickson on November 25, 2006.   He was proceeded in death by his dad-in-law Dennis Bouck (his partner in crime, work buddy at the cabin, a man after his own heart and all around great guy and friend), Uncle Carl Erickson, (whom he was named after and acted just like), brother David Erickson, and his mother Mary.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, and being at the cabin with his family. He worked hard and played even harder!  He had many special friends, coworkers and family members that enjoyed these activities with him as well. Matt was a man of many trades, (and that was why his father-in-law nicknamed him Slash.) He could do just about anything, HVAC installation, plumbing, he also worked for Kennecott and Wrights Air Systems.

Matt is survived by his wife: Jamie Erickson, father: Ronald Erickson, beautiful daughters Danielle Erickson (Travis) Jones and Holly Erickson Chadwick (Son John Chadwick). Matt had 7.5 grandchildren, Haiden (his first grandchild, he couldn’t have been prouder), Jayson (son of George), Savannah (Banana), Bentley (brave little man), Lance (little John with a little bit of Matt mixed in), Darrel (his special little guy), Dalyn (his last little one or so we thought). We are saddened that he will never get to meet his baby girl on the way but we will make sure she knows everything about him.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2:00p.m. at The Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah. Additional celebrations pending.

Following services there will be a luncheon held for close friends and family at Ron’s home 864 South 50 West, Springville.  We invite you to come and share your memories of a great man who will be truly missed.
