McKay Christopher Sorensen

December 18, 1990 — March 22, 2022

Provo, UT

After a courageous 663 day battle with cancer, our beloved warrior, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Mckay Christopher Sorensen (31), passed peacefully through the veil on March 22nd, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Mckay was born on December 18th, 1990 in Provo Utah to Chris and Cathy Sorensen. He brought so much joy to his family during his life. He was the oldest of four children. Throughout his life, Mckay excelled in athletics and was a standout athlete in soccer, basketball, and cross-country. He graduated from Provo High School and LDS Seminary in 2009. Mckay earned his Eagle Scout Award and then went on to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Comayaguela Honduras. There, he continued to develop his love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for his fellow man.
He loved working with his hands and could often be found designing or constructing a project. As a result of this passion, skill, and work ethic, Mckay was an outstanding HVAC technician at Any Hour Heating and Air where he cultivated many lasting friendships.
Mckay was very proud of his Viking heritage. He was a courageous warrior throughout his life, never more so than during his battle with cancer. Mckay was extremely kind-hearted, fiercely loyal, and always looked out for the underdog. He had a deep love for the mountains and dreamed of one day living off of his own land in Montana.
Mckay is survived by his parents, Chris and Cathy Sorensen (Provo), and his three siblings Breanna (Preston), Kyler (Natalia), and Tanner, a niece and nephew whom he adored, and many other extended family members who love him.
Mckay’s life was short but his influence for good will be felt by all who love him through the eternities.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26th, 2022 at 11 am located at the Lakeside 2nd Ward chapel (2530 West 200 South Provo) A viewing for friends and family will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Burial will be in the Timpanogas Memorial Garden Cemetery. Mckay and his family wish to express sincere gratitude for all the many caregivers – especially his angel hospice nurse Margaret Talker, as well as countless others who have supported, loved, and prayed for our family during this difficult journey.
One of Mckay’s final wishes was for his family to take a dream trip together to Norway, the land of their heritage. In lieu of flowers, those who would like to contribute may do so by sending any donations to the family via this link: Mckay’sDream
We love you, dear Mckay, God be with you till we meet again.
