Patricia (Reese) Miner

December 31, 1949 — January 6, 2020

Patricia “Patti” Reese Miner passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at her home in Springville.  She was born December 31, 1949 in Panguitch, Utah to Aaron Allen and Iris Rose Cox Reese. Patti grew up in Orderville making wonderful memories she cherished surrounded by her extended family.  The Reese family moved to Mapleton in her teen years where she went on to graduate from Springville High School in 1968.  She met her sweetheart, John Miner and they were married on September 15, 1979.  They enjoyed a beautiful life’s journey together before he passed away in March of 2011.
Patti went on to continue her education and work at what is now Utah Valley University. There Patti received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Patti loved her job and received several notorieties over her years of service at the college. She did an outstanding job at helping students, working with fellow staff members and conquering the demands of her job with her knowledge, skills and determination. She retired from the college after 30 wonderful years of service as an academic advisor.
Patti was a beautiful, kind, hard-working, and loving person. She loved music and played several instruments. It was always a great time when Patti would entertain you with a story, a poem or even a song or two with her beautiful 12 string guitar.  She loved her road trips with John. It seemed no matter where they went or how it went-they always had great adventures and a good story to share afterwards. Patti was a great homemaker. She always did a great job taking care of John and those around her in whatever way she could.  She could sew almost anything she needed and what a treat it was when she made you her famous “Patti’s buttermilk pancakes” and homemade syrup!
Patti has always loved the gospel and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She has recently enjoyed gathering with friends and growing in the gospel as she has hosted her ward’s Monday night scripture study group at her home.  Patti truly loved to gather with people. She loved to visit and hear your stories. So, no matter how you got to know her-from family reunions, work, the racetrack, at church, or just a forever friend please know she cherished that time with you. You all meant a great deal to her and she loved you for being a part of her life.  We also know that she was very grateful to those who were thinking of her and did a kind act of service in her favor. We know she would say “Thank you” again!
Patti is survived by her three brothers, Charley (Karen) Reese, Bill (Lori) Reese and Hyrum (Lori) Reese. Aunt Patti is also loved by many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Miner, her parents, sisters and many other cherished family members.
