Reginaldo Anselmo Neumann

July 23, 1946 — June 1, 2019

Reginaldo Anselmo Neumann Montesinos took the train onto the next life on Saturday June 1, 2019 in Provo, UT at the age of 72. He is no longer struggling with the mortal body that had given him so many pains in his later years but is finally at peace. He is leaving behind his wife Liliana Lucia Neumann, married for 27 years.  He was known as Regi or Regis to friends and family.
Regi was born in La Union, Chile. He was the second child and the first son of Maria Isabel and Reginaldo Anselmo Neumann.  His older sibling is his sister Patricia. His father died when he was young and was raised by his mother. He often spent his summers on the family farm working hard alongside his extended family with his cousins. Family was always important to him.
Regi graduated from the Universidad de Santiago as a Civil and Mechanical Engineer.  His work as an engineer brought him to the attention of an American firm. They offered him a job here in the US which brought him and his family here to America. With his job he traveled the world.
Reginaldo was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Anyone that knew him knew how he would search the scriptures, leaving his favorite set tattered, dog eared and written all over with notes showing his love and fervor for the gospel. He would try to share his findings with anyone that would take a few hours to listen, as he would always get into details that he had to explain.
Athletically, Regi was a member of a row team in college. Here in the US he started to play tennis. Anything he put his mind to, Regi was driven to excel. He ended up winning a few non-professional doubles tournaments during his time in Southern California. Later in his years, as his health faded, he would collect model trains. No one was allowed to touch his trains.
Reginaldo is survived by his wife, Liliana; his children Johann, Reinhold, Karin, Grethel, Hans and Ricardo; his sister Patricia and his grandchildren.
