Scott Lyman Spencer peacefully left this earthly life on May 20, 2023, in Provo, Utah. He was surrounded by his wife and best friend, Shar Lee, his daughters, Shonni, and Solvaye, his brothers and sisters, and his grandchildren.

Scott was born on June 14, 1948, in Logan. Utah to John and Opal Spencer. He spent most of his growing up years in Mapleton, Utah and graduated from Springville High School. While growing up he loved to fish in Hobble Creek, liked to play baseball, ride his bike, play in the orchard, go pheasant hunting, and swim in the ditches. He spent his summers in Boulder, Utah visiting with family. There, he enjoyed being a cowboy with his cousins, spending time on the ranches, hauling hay, and working with the animals- His favorite place to hunt with his brothers was on the Boulder Mountain.

ln his own words, the best day of his life was when he married his best friend and soulmate Shar Lee Everett on October 11,1968. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple on November 21, 1972. They had three children Slade, Shonni, and Solvaye. They raised their children in Provo. He said his goal in life was to make memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren. That is exactly what he did. His family has endless memories of vacations, camping, riding horses, hunting, fishing, hauling hay, playing games, his endless teasing, and sense of humor. He loved to work on projects and could fix anything. Scott never missed an opportunity to help or teach his many friends and family with his vast knowledge.

Scott served in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier and did two tours in Vietnam. He retired from Geneva Steel and IPSC as an electrician. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many callings, but his favorite calling was in the nursery with the little kids, who liked to call him Grandpa. Scott served a mission with his wife at the LDS Employment Center. He and Shar Lee spent 17 years camping as members of the Good Sams Organization. ln 2010 they started spending their winters in Arizona with their beloved camping friends.

Scott is survived by his sweetheart of 54 years, Shar Lee Everett, daughters, Shonni (Matt), and Solvaye, his grandchildren, Carsten, Kortnee, Samantha, Kaylie (Konnor), Spencer (Janie), Brayden, Kaysen, and Andrew, his siblings Gaylen (Debi) Spencer, Kenny (Valerie) Spencer, Jolene (Larry) Howden, Steve (Janette) Spencer, and Sue (Brooks) Washburn. At his passing Scott was reunited with his son, Slade, parents John and Opal Spencer, Neil Everett, and Faye Liddell.
