Shilo Jason Wayne Bowen

January 3, 1980 — April 29, 2021

Lehi

He was known as Shilo to many, and to myself and others we called him Jason, or Jay. The name you knew him by was irrelevant. It was just being blessed to have known him that really mattered. As everyone can attest, our world is less since we lost him on April 29th. He passed away, at the age of 41, after going in his room to lay down. His passing was sudden and unexpected, a shock and a mystery that haunts us each day. What I do know is we miss him each minute that he is not here. I feel like a piece of my heart has been stolen from me. For anyone who knew him, they could not help be positively effected by his understated sense of humor. His smile was infectious, although as understated as his entire personality. The one thing that was never understated was Jason's generosity. He gave to others expecting nothing in return. He was a kind soul, non judgmental and treated everyone with a basic kindness that is so rare in the world today. Jason was the kind of man that took pride in earning his way. He was one of the hardest working people I have ever met, at one time he worked three jobs without a single complaint. We will also miss his inquisitive nature. From the time he was a child, until the night before his passing, he turned to me with questions about things in this world he wanted to understand better. I loved being his older brother. And though many times I suspect he knew the answers to the questions he asked, he made me feel needed and special. It was just about spending time and talking. He was so compassionate, and loving. This was his superpower, checking on others at the time they needed it most, and helping them to feel important and needed. We love you Jay, thank you for all the times we spent together, even though it was not enough. You will never be forgotten, and we will always love and miss you dearly.
Shilo Jason Wayne Bowen (Hanks), leaves behind many people who love him dearly including his five children; Maddie, Gatlin, Hayden, McKenzie and Dillinger. His parents; Gary Bowen, and Arleta Hanks. His siblings; Jeremy, Brandon, Bryan, and Amy. So many wonderful loving family and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
Interment will be done at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Springville, Utah, on Friday, May 21, 2021 @ 1 pm. Please be mindful this service is only for family. We know that many other people wanted to come, and Jay would have loved you for it. However, this is something his family needs. Please be understanding and respectful. However, there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony, Saturday May 29, 2021 @ 12:00 pm. This will be an outdoor celebration of my brothers life with pot luck, something he would have loved. The celebration of life will be open to everyone who would like to honor, and love him. More details will follow as to the time and place.
