Taylor Lewis Thorpe

December 16, 1935 — August 31, 2020

Taylor Lewis Thorpe, 84, died Monday, August 31, 2020. He was born in Spanish Fork to Lewis and Birdie Thorpe and grew up in Springville. As a young boy Taylor started working with his father and uncle at Thorpe Burial Vaults. He enjoyed running equipment and this is where his love for construction started.

Taylor married Barbara Giles and they spent 65 years together. They raised two sons, Brad and Tadd.

Taylor's love of construction work began early in his life and continued through many, many years as he worked for Valley Asphalt. After Taylor retired he continued working as a Rider for Hobble Creek Cattleman's Association.

Taylor was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He supported his family in everything they participated in. Taylor loved meeting and visiting with people. He made everyone feel like they were his best friend.

Taylor is survived by his wife, Barbara, sons Brad and Tadd (Jill) and his brother Paul (Ranee), six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents Lewis and Birdie Thorpe, sister LuDean (Golden) Stallings, one niece and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4th at Wheeler Mortuary 211 E 200 S in Springville for immediate family and friends. Viewing 9:30 to 11:00 and funeral service at 11:00. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.

Because of COVID restrictions, masks will be required.
