Tyler Gene Wilkinson

May 3, 1986 — February 18, 2021

Springville

“Gentle Giant” Tyler Gene Wilkinson passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2021 at the age of 34. Tyler was born to Gene Alan Wilkinson and Teri Lynn Rydalch Wilkinson on May 3, 1986. After graduating from high school, Tyler chased his dream to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Canada, where he met his wife Mayda Gomez Wilkinson. He married Mayda on December 15th, 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Tyler was known for his big heart. He always made others feel special, served others with love and compassion, and never judged anyone. If anyone is willing to do one-tenth of what Tyler was always willing to do for others, that person is already going the extra mile.
Family was everything to Tyler. His most cherished events were family campouts and family parties. Tyler loved playing games with his wife and kids, aunts and uncles, parents, and siblings. He did not care how long playing games took as long as he spent time with family. He also loved to travel, watching movies and sports, lighting fireworks, and restoring cars.
Tyler studied Business Management at LDS Business College and Utah Valley University.
He developed a talent for entrepreneurship and started multiple companies, including a moving business, firewood services, and online stores in multiple sites such as eBay and Amazon. Tyler was a natural teacher and helped many people around the world to start online businesses.
Tyler served in multiple capacities in the church, but his most cherished calling was as a husband and father. He had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Happiness. Even though his faith was tested throughout his mortal life, his testimony never waivered.
Tyler is survived by his wife Mayda and two sons Andrew and Liam Wilkinson. He is also survived by his parents Gene Wilkinson and Teri Wilkinson, brothers Russell (Emily) Wilkinson, Brad (Malissa) Wilkinson, and sister Erin (Stewart) Sprague. He is also survived by his grandparents Clyde (Ialien) Rydalch and Robert Wilkinson. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Edith Florence Wilkinson.
Funeral Services will be held Monday March 1, 2021 in the Springville Ward Chapel.  Due to local Covid-19 health restrictions the services will be limited to only immediate family members.
